MOCCA:
PoseMixer Basic Use Tutorial

Works with:
R8, Mocca
Requires:
Version 8+

PoseMixer is one of the tools included with MOCCA that allows for slider-based morphing.

Step 1: Create a Sphere (Objects=>Primitive=>Sphere) and choose Make Editable from the Structure menu.

Step 2: Copy the sphere four times and rename the copies 'basepose', 'pose1', 'pose2', and 'pose3'.

Examples
Step 3: Move points around to change the shape of pose1, pose2, and pose3, and then hide them in the editor and renderer.

Step 4: Add a PoseMixer object to the scene (Plugins=>MOCCA=>PoseMixer).

Step 5: PoseMixer is a deformer, so you need to make it a child of the base object. Drag and drop the PoseMixer underneath the Sphere object.

Step 6: Select the PoseMixer object to access the slider fields in that Attributes Manager. Drag the basepose object from the Object Manager into the Default Pose field in the Attributes Manager. You have to use a copy of the base object rather than the deformed object itself otherwise you won't be able to return the object to its non-deformed state.

Step 7: Drag pose1 from the Object Manager into the empty slot beneath the Default Pose field.

Step 8: Click Add Pose twice and drag pose2 and pose3 into the slots.

Step 9: Dragging the sliders morphs the object based on your three poses. Click Record in the Attributes Manager to record the values of all your sliders at the current time.

Step 10: The object links remain live. So you can adjust your individual poses at any time.

This tool comes handy when you get into advanced animation such as lip-syncing.
